How to Become an Alaska Notary:
Compared to other states, Alaska has few eligibility requirements to become a notary. The process is simple and affordable. Click here to view the eligibility requirements to become a notary in Alaska.
Follow the steps below to become a notary in Alaska:

Order a four-year, $2,500 Alaska notary bond.
The bond is required by the Alaska Office of the Lieutenant Governor to protect the public from errors made by the notary. Our notary bonds include a complimentary four-year, $10,000 errors and omissions policy. Click here to purchase a notary bond.

Complete an Alaska notary application on the state’s website.
Create a myAlska account or log in to your account on the Alaska Secretary of State’s website to fill out a notary application. You will be asked to upload a copy of your executed notary bond to submit the application.

Take the oath of office.
After you submit the notary application, you will be prompted to download the signature page form (oath of office). Sign this form in the presence of a notary public. Log in to your myAlaska account to upload the notarized oath of office and pay the $40 notary application fee to the Alaska Office of the Lieutenant Governor.

Wait to receive your commission certificate.
After your notary application has been approved, you will receive an approval email containing a digital copy of your notary commission certificate. You will also receive a physical commission certificate within two weeks.
